Transcend Church Formed
Sent from East Shore Baptist Church in June of 2010 the Weathersby family begins meeting with one other family as a Church plant at the Springford Apartment buildings (Apartment i23)
First Rented Public Space
Transcend moves from the apartment into an hourly rental at the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Friendship Center.
First Full Time Space
Transcend moves to a full time rented space at 8000 Derry St, on the back side of an indoor smoking bingo hall.
We Bought a Building
We bought the church at 1801 State St where we still meet today. This church building was a “fixer”. Churches from East Shore Baptist Church, The Baptist Association of PA South Jersey, East Belmont Baptist Church, and Mt. Siani Baptist Church all poured energy, finances, and the Grace of God on Transcend helping to restore the building.
Transcend Church Becomes First Reformed Baptist
As the world continued on, Transcend Church didn’t communicate the Reformed Scriptocentric convictions of its members and so First Reformed Baptist Church was born (more about that here).
